From life.
My kitchen sink clogged. The reason and the process are not important now — what's important is that I couldn't help myself anymore.
So I did what most of us would do. I opened Google and typed: "Mortkovanie Bratislava".
I opened the first two companies from organic search. Some were busy, others didn't answer.
After half an hour, I tried again — the first still didn't answer, the second didn't either. After a while, one of them called me back, but he said he would come the next day.
But I needed to deal with it right away.
So I did what many people would probably consider a risk — I clicked on a Google Ads ad.
I told myself: if they're paying for advertising, they probably mean it and they might have free capacity.
And they really did.
They came within two hours, and in an hour and a half it was done. Professional, fast, no nonsense.
I was satisfied – really satisfied.
So I decided to give them a review on Google.
But… I couldn’t find them there.
And here I thought for a moment.
Why was I the third person to call them?
When did it break me that I decided to take a chance on a company I didn’t know and that didn’t have any reviews?
It was when the other two – the ones with great reviews – wouldn’t answer my phone or didn’t have an appointment.
And here’s the kicker:
If this third company had at least a few reviews, I would have called them first.
Because reviews are a key part of customer decision-making today.
Not because of the stars, but because of trust.
Give people a chance to talk about you
If you provide quality service, let people talk about it for you.
Not because you need “marketing,” but because real experiences sell best.
In the long run, it will always show – quality is not hidden in ratings.
And yes, sometimes a negative review will appear. But believe me, negative feedback will often earn you more money than a positive one.
Why?
Because it will move you forward. It will draw attention to things that you may not be aware of yourself, and it will give you a chance to be better.
Hand on heart – we often underestimate this topic too.
But that is exactly why I am writing about it.
Feedback is an integral part of business.
And if you can accept it with an open mind, it will help you grow – sometimes more than you would expect.
PS: I finally personally explained to the gentlemen who saved my kitchen how they can create a Google profile and why it is important for them.
And I believe that if they do this, more people will call them next time – maybe you too.
